Debtris is a really nice little Tetris inspired animation courtesy of the clever folks at Information is Beautiful. It makes comparing and contrasting huge numerical values that are difficult to get your head around such as the pre-war predicted cost of the Iraq war vs the actual estimated cost, the cost of Trident’s nuclear missile system and the NHS’s yearly budget very easy and accessible, with striking results. It’s both fascinating and shocking for example to see how all the debts are dwarfed by the total cost of the credit crisis to the world…all set to a Tetris soundtrack, great stuff!
