If you happen to be free tomorrow and are not marching against the cuts then you could do a lot worse than going along to Japan Day at The People’s Supermarket.

As of 21st March, 8,649 people have died and more than 10,000 people are still missing. Currently, still over 300,000 people are in evacuation shelters, some of whom have had their homes completely destroyed by the earthquake and tsunami. They have a tremendously long way to go to rebuild their lives.

On the day there will be Japanese food, Calligraphy, Origami, Martial Arts and Japanese bands. All the revenue that is taken at the People’s Kitchen on the day will be donated for the earthquake and tsunami survivors, through the Japanese Red Cross and Koto-lab, a social enterprise based in Yokohama.

It promises to be a great day, for a very urgent cause. Japan needs your help.
